Concert Pictures [February 23, 2007 @ 1:24am]
These were taken back in November at the Riverwind Casino show in Oklahoma City. They were taken with my cell phone so that's the reason for the small size and not-so-great quality.

A few hours before the show I was hanging out in the casino and saw Soni at the Starbucks cafe getting food and drinks. At the time I didn't want to bother him, but now I regret not saying hi and trying to get a pic with him. I guess there is always next time.

[November 07, 2006 @ 7:21am]
Hi guys, I've noticed the community has been quite dead, so I thought I would make a post.

Was anyone else at the Atlantic City show two nights ago with (what I like to call) mini-riot?
It was amazing.

They had place high rollers with free tickets who didn't really notice the band (or most of them from what I could tell) & after "State Your Peace" all of us in general admission just bum-rushed the stage.

Tour dates [May 02, 2006 @ 10:47am]

[ mood | bouncy ]

The Blowfish have added lots of tour dates for the summer. Tour dates can now be found of the recent entries page and on the community info page. I'm still waiting for those Florida dates (ANY Florida dates) to be added. Looks like I'm going to have to do some road-tripping. Anyone else planning on attending any shows in the near future?

I gotta tell you, it's wonderful to hear "Get Out Of My Mind" on regular rotation on my local radio station, to have friends who don't listen to Hootie, tell me they like the new Hootie song. :)

The Animal Mission [March 05, 2006 @ 9:34pm]

Friday I went to "Party Animals 2006" benefiting Soni's Animal Mission here in Columbia. It was pretty fun. I wish I brought my camera though cause it turns out that my Dad knows a few guys that help the band and we hung out with them after the show. There were a bunch of old people there. It took until about the end of the show for everyone to stand up (Only Wanna Be With You was the song). My dad and stepmom got VIP passes to the Monday After the Masters thing Hootie does. I wish I could go, but I have to work.
I hope all is well.

Let me "Be The One" to introduce myself...lol [February 02, 2006 @ 1:58pm]

[ mood | I don't know, what I can't see ]

Hello fellow Hootie and the Blowfish fans, my name is Jeff a.k.a Muzaksoul (Yes, I spelled it wrong on propose)

I hope this is not spam, just wanted to say, this place looked so awesomely cool and you guys seem to know your stuff, I just had to join up as fast as I could. I started listening to H&TBF back in late 04, I got the “Greatest Hits” CD so I could hear “Only Wanna Be With You” the only song I knew at the time from them, I got tried of the song after a while so I started to listen to other songs, I heard “Time” for the first time (No pun intended) and I was hooked from there. Got the “Fairweather Johnson” CD, and I got hooked on “The Old Man and Me”, “Be The One and my FAVORITE SONG OF ALL TIME “Tucker’s Town” (WOOT!!!), I love “Tucker’s Town” it’s so tropical and simple, but still has a good driving beat and some awesome lyrics.

Anyhoo, I moved on to the other albums, “Musical Chairs” was ok, and with hits like “I Will Wait”, “Las Vegas Nights” and “Bluesy Revolution” with is another fav of mine. I don’t have “Looking For Lucky” as of yet…. still waiting to see some more singles first before I buy it, other than that…I’m done, oh…I am a musician, I play bass guitar, I have a Fender Jazz Bass (and no I don’t have the Geddy Lee Jazz Bass that Mark played in the video for “One Love”, but I wish I did ^_^)

Hope to make friends here, maybe meet someone new, never know with these on-line fan-sites, and I love the fact that it’s so small and not crowded, makes for a more personal feeling, a big plus

Later guys

hootie @ pabst theater [November 03, 2005 @ 12:31am]

[ mood | chipper ]

just wanted to say i saw the guys play tonight at the pabst theater in milwaukee. brilliant as always! i think my favorite part of the show (if i had to pick just one...) was when darius busted out singing 'gold digger' by kanye west. awesome :D

i love those guys...

I love these guys, oh...I'm new too [October 16, 2005 @ 6:56pm]

"I wonder
Why are we involved
With the seasons
And the living of our own"
-Hootie & the Blowfish "Be the One"

I love this band, love the music and Mr. Rucker's voice is just awesome. I listen to the Greatest Hits last year, hear the song "Time" and fell in love ever since, I have all the albums and love the new song. I think it's time to bring back the real artist's to the music world and take out the trash, and Hootie is real down to earth goodness.

Anyhoo, I love this band and I love add-on, so if I made the team add me, bye guy...and remember it's all about the "One Love"

Next Single? [September 30, 2005 @ 12:23am]
Not that they've really promoted One Love all that great, but I was thinking a good song for the next single would be Get Out of My Mind. This song has to be my favorite on the album (for now) and I think it would have appeal to the masses. Any thoughts?

Hootie Love [September 20, 2005 @ 1:11am]

There's a post on the Hootie.com messageboards with a more positive vibe today that I really liked. So I thought I'd bring the subject here. We might have talked about this before on this community but there are lots more new members just waiting for a chance to reply!

Why I love Hootie and their music. Would love to hear everyone's opinion!

My reply...Collapse )

messageboards take a turn for the worse [September 18, 2005 @ 4:00pm]

[ mood | disappointed ]

Anyone here frequent the hootie.com messageboards and been witness to the dark clouds that have rolled in? And if so, any thoughts on how to exorcise the negativity?

Community Promos [September 15, 2005 @ 3:45pm]
I made a couple community banners that you can use in your own LJ or to promote this community in other places. All I ask is that you upload them to your own server and don't hotlink from here.

Hmm... [September 14, 2005 @ 9:52pm]

Someone on the official Hootie forums linked to this:

Darius Rucker. Sigh. What's not to love about the man who wrote the song, "Let Her Cry?" While his beautiful brown eyes and luscious lips make him the alpha male, what really puts Darius Rucker over the hotness top is his ability to weave transcendent melodies the same way God weaved the Earth out of nothingness. On the eighth day, He created Darius Rucker. His sultry baritone seduces you while all the other people in the band do that thing with the instruments. Did someone say Hootie and the Blowfish? We meant "Hottie and the Blowfish."

Oh yeah.

Favorite blowfish anyone? I know one TFJ out there has a thing for Mark. ;) I can't pick one, I adore them all. But, D? Damn.
